Melissa completed her formal photography training at the New Hampshire Institute of Art in Manchester, NH, and the Rocky Mountain School of Photography in Missoula, MT.
Prior to her career as a photographer, Melissa earned an AAS degree in Travel and Tourism at Tompkins-Cortland Community College in New York before completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies at the University of Tennessee. Shortly after graduation, Melissa worked nearly 7 years as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist with children with multiple disabilities at a rehabilitation center in southern New Hampshire.
Now in Kentucky, Melissa has launched her documentary, travel, and food photography business. Thus far, her images have been published in BostonGlobe.com, Louisville Magazine, Today's Woman, Family, and Traditions Magazines, The Rocky Mountain School of Photography 2007 course catalog, Kite Tales Newsletter (for Kosair Charities), Intuitive Teachings Parent Guide, and Loyola Press. She also has a culinary business where she is a personal chef and also develops recipes for publication.
