Melissa completed her formal photography training at the New Hampshire Institute of Art in Manchester, NH, and the Rocky Mountain School of Photography in Missoula, MT.


Prior to her career as a photographer, Melissa earned an AAS degree in Travel and Tourism and lived and worked in Florida a few years before completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies at the University of Tennessee. Shortly after graduation, Melissa worked nearly 7 years as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist with children with multiple disabilities. She has also worked as a Marionette Puppeteer in two performances for a rare and unique opera theater company, was an Office Manager for an interior plantscaping company, and a Sales Assistant for a custom wide plank wood flooring business.

In the summer of 2007, she worked as a Cook and Recipe Developer/Tester on an organic guest farm in northern California. And then
in the summer of 2008, Melissa spent a few months traveling through Ireland and France, where she was inspired to write several travel stories and photo document various events.

Now in Kentucky, Melissa has launched her documentary, travel, food, and fine art photography business. Thus far, her images have been published in The Boston Globe Web Addition, Louisville Magazine, Today's Woman Magazine, The Rocky Mountain School of Photography 2007 course catalog, and Intuitive Teachings Parent Guide.
She also has a culinary business where she develops recipes for publication, and is writing various types of culinary travel articles. Melissa is also a new member of the IACP (International Association of Culinary Professionals), and is working toward earning her CCP (Certified Culinary Professional) certification.

Melissa has also been doing voice over work for Intuitive Teachings, and is developing a line of inspiration clothing with her best friend Jennifer.
